Peter Navarro: Now is time for Trump to crack down on China

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro pointed out that the Trump administration may be looking at action against China for now.

In an interview on Sinclair Broadcasting’s “America This Week,” Navarro suggested Joe Biden’s policies will give China a pass.

“It’s very clear that there’s a fork in the road here,” Navarro said. “Biden goes to Beijing, President Trump goes to protect the men and women of America.”

But President Donald Trump is still taking steps to confront China, Navarro said, signing last week an executive order prohibiting U.S. investments in companies linked to the Chinese military.

And more could come, he suggested.

“They’re killing Americans,” Navarro charged, blaming China for the coronavirus pandemic that has killed nearly a quarter-million in the United States. “They need to be held accountable. It’s time, now.”

“Why the hell aren’t more people angry at Communist China for infecting us with this virus?” He said.

Navarro pointed to Trump’s action against China last week, when he signed an executive order banning U.S. investments in companies with ties to the Chinese military.

Peter Navarro said on November 13th that the Trump administration is “tackling Chinese companies that mean to do America harm” with the president’s latest executive order.

“American capital should not be used to finance Chinese militarization, particularly weapons that are going to be used to kill Americans,” Navarro said.

Navarro also identified Hikivision and Huawei as examples of surveillance companies that have been accused of providing tools to China so the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can keep tabs on the country’s Muslim minority populations in Xinjiang, some of whom have been forced into “reeducation,” or detention, camps.

“These are bad, bad, bad, bad companies doing bad, bad things with the goal of driving the U.S. Navy out of the Pacific,” Navarro said.

A 2017 Chinese national intelligence law says all Chinese companies must comply with requests from the CCP for information.
